Residential Thermal Imaging Services

Preventative thermal imaging gives home owners and home buyers detailed information about hidden problems. This information lets you schedule repairs at convenient times, make educated buying decisions, and avoid the headache of demolition (which is the only other way to know what lurks behind walls).

Most problems exhibit a change in temperature. We can "see" temperature and therefore we can identify your invisible problems before they become expensive. Our thermal images are superimposed on photos of your structure, making it easy for electricians, insulators, and contractors to locate the problem and provide a solution. (For more information about how it works, read What Is Infrared.)

Find problems you can't see with the naked eye... thermal imaging can identify:
• electrical hazards
• water damage
• mold
• insect damage
• poor or missing insulation
• plumbing leaks
• roof leaks
• external weatherproofing issues
• air leaks
• potential energy savings
• structural defects
• poor workmanship

Find internal problems without tearing down walls!
Before making the most expensive purchase of your life, have us conduct a thermal imaging survey of the property you want to purchase. For less than $400, you can gain tremendous information and avoid costly repairs that can not be identified during ordinary home inspections. Home inspectors usually use their eyes, not a thermal imaging camera, to inspect a house. They simply can not see the problems Infratech can. Without a thermal imaging device, inspectors can't see potential problems inside walls, floors, ducts, windows, or electrical components. An infrared device can capture a thermal image, and that thermal image captures temperatures. Many household problems cause a shift in temperature. When a trained thermographer captures those images, they can interpret the images and show you and your contractor where hidden problems are growing.

Infratech is operated by a Certified Level 2 Infrared Thermographer who is also an experienced electrician with 30 years of hands-on industrial and residential troubleshooting.

Thermal imaging is a fast way to accurately detect temperature changes in walls, floors, etc. It can identify many hidden problems, but it can not identify all problems nor eliminate all risk. Some problems may require additional testing, such as moisture metering or energy audits.
